Mesa author Steven W. Allen has tugged at the patriotic heartstrings of thousands of readers with his book, Founding Fathers: Uncommon Heroes.

One in particular, Senator Orrin

G. Hatch, was impressed enough with Brother Allen's book to write a forward for the recent third printing of the book.

Senator Hatch writes, "Founding Fathers, Uncommon Heroes is a fascinating look at the lives of six of the Founding Fathers of our nation ... This book brings to light the physical, spiritual and philosophical characteristics that propelled these men to greatness. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about some very uncommon heroes whose courage, convictions and fortitude shaped the fabric of our nation and established the greatest democracy on earth."

Brother Allen, a Phoenix native, graduated from ASU's College of Law. He has his own estate planning and asset protection law firm in Mesa, and has presented more than 750 estate planning seminars throughout the United States as well as being a frequent guest on television and radio.

Yet, now, with his knowledge and interest in the lives and work of the nation's Founding Fathers, Brother Allen is being frequently sought to speak on that subject.

At events such as a book signing at Deseret Book and a Presidents' Day appearance on Channel 3 TV, Brother Allen continues to spread the inspiring message of brotherhood, dedication and character demonstrated in the lives of the Founding Fathers.

He and his wife, Linda, who are parents of five children, also hosted a George Washington birthday party at Brother Allen's office. The party, complete with men dressed in Revolutionary military uniforms, a fife and drum band and food vendors, also included Brother Allen speaking about George Washington.

Brother Allen has also been chosen to be the MC for the Spirit of America event sponsored by The Sons of the American Revolution, The Daughters of the American Revolution, the Elks Lodge and the Tribune.

The event will be held at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler on April 19. The afternoon events will include a history display of the American flag, displays that demonstrate how Americans unite to support one another, police and fire department vehicle displays, and patriotic music by high school bands.

That evening, in addition to a buffet dinner, there will be a color guard presentation, the presentation of the Outstanding Educator Award, and discussions on the Bill of Rights.
